This week we focused a lot on ethics. Specifically, how to apply ethical frameworks to a given situation. There are a lot of ethic considerations when it comes to topics like automation and generative AI. One thing that is related to ethics is integrity. In general I’m all for borrowing and adapting the work of others as long as credit is given when and where it is due. I’m looking forward to exploring these ideas and expanding on them in the next couple of weeks.
One of the things I read this week was a post about all the things a CS major should know.

I’ll add this one to my list… Sarcasm aside, I actually agreed with quite a few of this person’s opinions. I’ve read a lot of these types of posts, where a veteran details all the things that one needs to know to make it. Most of them leave the reader feeling like they will never know enough and this one is no different. I did enjoy reading the bits that confirmed my own super specific criteria on how to write an email though…
