Continuing on the topic of persistence, there is a lot of utility that we get from persistence in modern computers. It is convenient for us to be able to use a process to influence a state which can be used by another process later on. Beyond computing, persistence is a characteristic that is a great benefit in the physical world.
Things that we experience influence us in a lasting way, and we can draw on that experience in the future. In the context of the last 8 weeks, and the next year of classes I will take, persistence will likely be a recurring theme. I hope that years from now I can look back on these writings and reflect on how my thoughts may have been influenced by things I have experienced.
