This week I didn’t achieve much in terms of milestones to move my project forward. At this point, it is in a sort of weird place where things have progressed far enough to be functional, but there is still so much more work to do. I have stopped working on anything new so that I can get organized before having other people contribute to the project.
I have also spent more time than I want documenting and fixing small issues that come up. I’ve also begun to understand the practical reasons that make standing up and maintaining a server difficult. One of the biggest things I want to work on for the future of the project is ease of use for regular people. Right now, I’m basically running the server as an analog machine. If someone doesn’t make sure that everything is set up properly, the machine will break. Dashboards for monitoring the server, as well as some more robust hardware is one of the next big things to tackle I think.
